Tab and keyboards

Many people have problems connecting bluetooth keyboards to Samsung Galaxy Tabs.
I hear that Google says that Android is not yet really meant for tablets. I think that's a bit slow, the tablets have been coming for a long while now. But on the other hand, what marvels we'll surely see when it becomes so!! (That was only half sarcastic.)

Anyway, while I could not get the GT to work with the Apple Wireless keyboard, I did get it to work with the super-compact Think Outside foldable keyboard. Zippidy. The stealth writer lounges once more.

WOO HOO! DIFFICULT to believe that that COOL little keyboard is out of production! Why?! :-(

(and, man, what I would give for the movie w/that song in it! :-)

There is a new version of the Android operating system being worked on that is specifically for tablets. It's called "Honeycomb," and will probably be Android 3.0. Google is just finishing up with Android 2.3, called "Gingerbread," which is still geared towards phones, not tablets. It looks like "Honeycomb" will be out sometime in the first half of next year.

Once Honeycomb is out, I think you will see bigger tablets with Android, more of the, "lean backward, use at home," type. The smaller Android tablets now seem more like, "lean forward, use when traveling," tablets.

Sounds good.

(Confusingly, I think I have heard of some tablets using "Android 3.2" though... ?)

Just noticed this keyboard on that site I just sent you! Just COOL that you have the other working w/it but I LOVE how the reader attaches to this keyboard. SO COOL! :-)

I see the Kensington Bluetooth Keyboard Case for iPad is available from Amazon now:

Something like this for iPad sized devices seems like it would sell well.

Ah, thanks.
Yes, right from the start I thought this was a very promising idea.

I wonder how it compares in size to a full sized keyboard though. Can a man with big hands touch-type? The reviews seem quite iffy on that.

On the other hand, my Think Outside keyboard is no wider than the iPad, and I can touch-type on that, so...
