Size matters and considerations

It's interesting to me that personal taste goes a lot further than one should imagine. A good example is that many people would rather be boiled than having to read a book on a mobile phone screen due to the size, but many, many people happily do this every day, and many have even done it since the days when those screens were much smaller and cruder than now.

I've used everything from the orignal Handspring Visor, the Sony Clie line, Palms, Nokia N800s, 5", 7" and 10" tablets.

In my opinion the optimal size for straight text is probably 6"-8" and 10"+ for formatted text.

Right now I'd regard the Nook Simple Touch as optimal in terms of Size Weight and Battery life.

I find that the 3.5"-4" is quite usable if one regards the content as a column within one page.

Of course Comics and Manga are a different matter. 7" portrait with a minimum width of 600 pixels is the minimum tolerable size, with 10" ideal.

I have just seen the new Samsung Galaxy phone and I thought I could read very well on it.
