eReaderJoy: thoughts and news from Eolake Stobblehouse about the wonderful new platform of tablets and e-reading devices. Some say, one of the biggest advances to reading since Gutenberg (Okay, I said that).
In e-form, books have never been wider, cheaper or faster available, easier to understand, use, and carry, or more comfortable to read.
WOW!! *SO* trying NOT to fall in LOVE w/the Fire! :-P Too bad you don't live over here, so you could benefit from one! I'm still trying to figure out how Amazon can offer 3G completely free where the entire cell industry gouges us to even be able to *use* it! :-(
LOVE the Silk browser technology! VERY COOL!
With that color screen and ALL the content, this e-reader, FINALLY, feels "all grown up!" :-D Now, they're *really* talking business! :-)
And...I think I heard his "motivation" for staying w/the e-ink technology: he's very proud of the "no back-lighting" and "no disrupting the sleep cycles!" so...I think that will probably be a large part of why the e-ink remains.
Funny how his conference "feels" like an Apple conference! :-) Thanks for posting it. I appreciate that!
Any word on your iPhone debut? Wasn't that already supposed to have happened, earlier today?
I've ordered the Fire, actually. Why I can't buy anything on it, that's not important. I'm 90% sure I can read on it, on the Kindle app, in the browser, and Instapaper, and watch vlodcasts, and that's my main interests.

Did you catch the subtle jab w/the tell-tale white USB cord slide that was thrown in re: "wireless synching?" I thought it was pretty funny! Peeps in the audience caught it, as well! :-)
"I'm sorry: the Fire does not have 3G, much less free. And it won't have, I'm sure, it uses much more bandwidth than a simple Kindle."
WHAT?! So...all that 3G stuff was just hype?! Wasn't that part of what was in the Fire?! Wasn't this conference done on the release date of all these new Kindles?!
"I've ordered the Fire, actually."
I'm jealous! But...looking forward to hearing feedback so...I'm happy for you! ;-)

I hope it will work out; otherwise...I could give you an idea of what you could do w/it! :-D Hope it does work out for you, though.
Still scratching my head re: what you just wrote re: the 3G...
